Adventure Watersports in Marathon Florida

Friday September 05

The heart of the Florida keys is in Marathon, Florida. Located right in the middle of the popular island chain, the area of Marathon includes Conch Keys, Grassy Key, Boot Key, and several other interesting keys. It is separated from the lower keys by the Seven Mile Bridge. This famous bridge has made several guest appearances in many movies and hosts an annual Seven Mile Brige Run each year. From diving and snorkeling, to charter fishing, sailing with dolphins, or simply taking a scenic boat cruise; there are many, many watersport adventures to choose from in Marathon, Florida.
Deep sea fishing and scuba diving and snorkeling are the orders of the day when you visit Marathon, Florida. The Gulf Stream’s Marathon Key West Hump creates the ideal feeding ground for big gamefish. It’s deeper and more open in this area which means the fishing is truly something exceptional. If the waters on the ocean side get too rough, boats can easily navigate over to the Gulf side for a smoother ride. The snorkeling and scuba diving are prime at the main spots of Coffins Patch and Sombrero Reef. Divers also have the option of wreck diving the Barge and Thunderbolt sites.
The weather in the lower Florida Keys is near perfection everyday. There are only passing rain showers and they never last long. The lower Keys is one of the sunniest and warmest places in the entire United States year-round. The climate in winter maintains at about 75 - 80 degrees with warmer days mixed in. This tropical paradise is easy to get to and offers many different water adventures for people to choose from. Why not escape the winter or any season blahs with an exciting Florida water adventure? See what’s on offer at:
